By: Tony Ozuna
The American saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter has been celebrating his 80th birthday with an ambitious tour to key cities around the States and onto Europe. Shorter and his quartet will bring his traveling “birthday party” to Lucerna’s Velký sál on Nov. 6 as the highlight of this year’s Strings of Autumn festival. Shorter will play the first part of the evening with his quartet, and after the interval, will be joined by the Prague Philharmonia, led by conductor Martin Kumžák.
